• To receive information on the article genre and principles for application to the material you bring to the retreat (based on completed research from a project or a thesis/dissertation);
• To plan an article as a distinct genre separate from the thesis/dissertation;
• Application of the guiding principles in crafting the material to conform with the guidelines of the target journal you have selected;
• Guidelines for writing the various generic sections in an article-appropriate style;
• Critical feedback on the full draft of the contracted article you write during the retreat;
• By the end of the retreat you will have a full draft for consideration by your co-author(s) / supervisor(s);
• Handouts with core notes and instruction for your reference during the retreat and for your own application to further articles after the retreat.

• You will contract with Ruth electronically via email and have email access during the virtual retreat;
• Critical reading and personalised feedback will be provided with clear instructions on track changes on one draft of each of the sections of the article (depending on the format of your journal)
• Consultation on virtual platform of your choice

• Due to the subjective nature of peer review, there is no guarantee that articles will be accepted in your target journal in your field after attending this workshop;
• Discipline specific technical content input is not provided;
• Registration covers the critical reading of one contracted article and no additional articles (can be arranged as part of a separate other contract);
• No additional critical reads of multiple versions of the contracted article (this can be arranged as separate contract with hourly rate applicable);

Payment for the virtual retreat must be paid in full 5 days before the commencement date. If the institution is paying, the purchase order should be received 5 days prior to commencement date.

Critical reading and consultation outside of the contracted registration of one week will be charged at an hourly rate.
